Major Service for Seat Leon: Timing Belt, Water Pump, and DSG DQ250

A 190,000 km Seat Leon came into our Russian car service in Belgrade for a major scheduled maintenance, also known as a major service.

At this mileage, it is best to service the main components all at once, so we performed the following:

  • replaced the timing belt kit;
  • replaced the water pump;
  • replaced the coolant;
  • changed the engine oil;
  • replaced all necessary filters;
  • replaced the rear shock absorbers;
  • changed the oil in the DSG DQ250 gearbox.

For Seat, Volkswagen, Škoda, and Audi, a major service is key for maintenance. Timely changes of the timing belt, pump, fluids, and consumables can prevent much more expensive problems down the road.

A note on the DQ250: This is a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with wet clutches, and the transmission oil must be changed according to the schedule — this is crucial to its performance.
