Peugeot 208 1.2 PureTech. Major service, minor service, and gearbox oil change in Belgrade
A Peugeot 208 with a 1.2 PureTech gasoline engine came into our garage in Zvezdara. The vehicle required comprehensive maintenance, so we performed a major service, a minor service, and an oil change for the gearbox.
As part of the major service, we replaced the timing belt and necessary components, as well as the water pump. The 1.2 PureTech engine does not have the water pump driven by the timing belt, but we recommend replacing it during major servicing. If you decide to keep the old pump, we highly recommend at least replacing the smaller belt that drives it.
Particular attention should be paid to the timing belt replacement intervals for the 1.2 PureTech engines. Based on updated recommendations and the characteristics of these engines, we suggest performing a major service every 60,000 km, without waiting for issues with the belt to arise. The exact schedule should be verified for each specific engine modification.
Our garage is equipped with all the necessary specialized tools for properly conducting major services on Peugeot and Citroën 1.2 PureTech engines. All work is performed in accordance with the technology for installing and securing the camshaft timing.
In addition, we conducted a minor service that included an engine oil and filter change, and we completely replaced the gearbox oil using Valvoline oil.
