The MINI Cooper SD with a diesel 2.0 B47 engine producing 170 hp came to our service center in Belgrade for comprehensive maintenance.
We performed the following services:
- engine oil replacement;
- all filters replacement;
- fuel filter replacement;
- oil change in the 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission;
- computer diagnostics of the engine and electronic systems;
- intake system diagnostics.
The fuel filter on a diesel engine should be replaced no less than once every 20,000 km: this protects the fuel system and ensures the engine operates smoothly.
During the intake diagnostics, we discovered significant contamination: the swirl flaps were coated with soot and carbon buildup, creating a dense layer. We recommended a cleaning, which the owner accepted, and the intake was thoroughly cleaned.
The B47 diesel engine in BMW and MINI, along with the Aisin automatic transmission and intake system, thrive on regular maintenance: timely oil and filter changes, and keeping an eye on the intake condition. This way, expensive repairs can be postponed for a long time.
