The Audi A3 with a 1.5 TFSI engine producing 150 hp and a DQ200 dual-clutch transmission came into our Russian auto service in Belgrade for a major service. We replaced the timing belt.
During the diagnostics, we also replaced the cooling system electric water pump. This is an independent unit that is not connected to the timing belt service. The diagnostics indicated that the pump was losing efficiency and was no longer circulating the coolant properly, and we didn’t want to wait for this to impact the engine's temperature management. We filled it with new antifreeze after the job.
In parallel, we performed a minor service: changing the engine oil and all necessary filters.
Next up was the transmission. The DQ200 is a dry-clutch automatic, and we changed the oil in the mechanical part and the fluid in the mechatronics. Our simple recommendation for this transmission is to service both the oil and mechatronics at least once every 60,000 km. At this interval, the unit lasts longer and requires costly repairs less frequently.
